We all experience challenges in life – times when we could benefit from the support of a caring Christian friend. Stephen Ministers are ready to provide the emotional and spiritual care we need when faced with a crisis or difficulty, such as-
- Loss of a loved one
- Hospitalization
- Divorce or separation
- Loneliness or discouragement
- Spiritual crises
- A terminal illness
- Aging
- A chronic illness
- And many more
Confidentiality is a top priority for Stephen Ministers. You do not need to be concerned that other people will discover what you talk about with your Stephen Minister. The identity of those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship remains private.
Founded in 1975, Stephen Ministries is a not-for-profit educational organization based in St. Louis, Missouri. Stephen Ministries provide training and resources to thousands of congregations and organizations worldwide.
Seven members of our congregation have completed the 50-hour training period required to become qualified Stephen Ministers. Brett DeMond and Lonnie Crumley also completed the additional training required to become Stephen Leaders. All are ready, properly trained, and able to provide confidential, on-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and our community who are experiencing difficult times in their lives.
If you of someone you know would benefit from talking with a Stephen Minister you need simply to ask for help from a Stephen Minister. When you do, a Stephen Leader will contact you to talk more about Stephen Ministry and what it can mean to you. If your needs can be best served by a Stephen Minister, you will be matched with someone who will support you through those tough times.
