Jesus And Me (J.A.M.) Youth Club
 Last year the J.A.M. Club of Rochester United Methodist Church adopted a school in Iraq. For more information please see the flyer. They are proud to say "Mission Accomplished!" For an update on what was accomplished click here.
Locally the J.A.M. Club collected nearly $700 to put toward the purchase of a dairy cow to help a farmer in Lewis County who lost his entire herd in the 2007 flood. With a contribution from the church Benevolence Fund, a total of three pregnant heifers were purchased and delivered to the farmer. KOMO 4 News reported their efforts last June when the kids went to meet the farmer and "their" cow. |
Bryan and Danette Jones once again lead a weekly J.A.M. Club program that will explore God through what God does. Since many of the things God does are because of - or to show- His love for us, an outstretched hand will help create a fun, warm atmosphere for learning! Highlights include a Bible exploration curriculum by Group’s Bible Blitz featuring the award-winning Hands-On Bible which includes fun science experiments and memory verses. The kids will focus on praising God during each lesson through exciting prayers and songs.
Highlights of this year's plan include:
- Christmas, Easter and Mother's Day plays
- Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF (provides clean water, immunizations, medical care and emergency support to children around the world)
- Continued help for flood victims, including the purchase of additional livestock for families in need of food and income
- Continued donations of school supplies to newly built schools in Iraq
- Donations to the local food and clothing banks
- Field trips that will include snow skiing, bowling, roller skating, batting cages, Christian concerts, swimming and mission trips
- Our second annual “Sleepless Saturday” in the spring
- Quarterly “songs and praise” talent show nights
The J.A.M. Club meets each Sunday morning beginning with a free breakfast at 9:15 and Sunday School from 9:45 to 10:45.
