We have formed four Teams consisting of volunteers interested in improving and expanding our church to more fully meet the needs of both the existing congregation and our community. For more information on how you can participate in one or more of the following teams, please feel free to contact either the church office at 273-5000 or the contact person noted.

The Welcome Team focuses on inviting and incorporating people into our church with an emphasis on listening to needs and finding ways to help meet needs. The team also helps develop new ministries in ways we can include more people into our church family. For more information contact Joyce Smith.


The Celebrate Team focuses on our community life and how we reach out and include everyone with activities more fully in our church. This group plans community building activities, parties and events. For more information contact Margaret Wharton.



The focus of the Nurture Team How is your spiritual well being? The RUMC Nurture Team works together to enhance our spiritual well being by visiting, communicating with and educating church members as well as people within our community. The Team puts together programs for kids and adults that help us relate to God, each other and the world. Some of the projects of the Nurture Team include the children’s ministries, the church library*, calling and visiting shut-ins, and maintaining a members photo gallery.

The focus of the Serve Team is ministry and outreach to our community and the broader world. They work to identify needs and find ways to help meet these needs. An important part of their mission is to find ways to invite every member of the church to be involved in Christ's mission of helping and serving one another. This exciting kids program jams with music praise and worship, projects, bible lessons and interactive relationships with God and each other.

Sunday mornings start with breakfast at 9:15am.

Stephen Ministries
A team of seven trained care ministers to offer confidential support to hurting people.

  • A child of God who walks beside a person who is hurting
  • A congregation member with gifts for caregiving, who was carefully selected to serve in this role
  • A lay person who has received 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual care
  • A caring, Christian friend who listens, cares, prays, supports, and encourages
  • Someone who will “be there” for his or her care receiver, meeting faithfully for about an hour each week, for as long as there’s a need
